Lespri Ministries is a nonprofit mission that exists to bring hope, healing, and opportunity to children in Haiti through a free, Christ-centered school. Lespri's Free School serves over 250 students in the community of Leogane, Haiti, many of whom would be considered “at-risk.”
At Lespri, we believe that no child should be denied a stable, 10-month yearly education because of poverty, which is why every student is welcomed free of charge since our grand opening in 2015. At the heart of our mission is a desire to help children & youth know Jesus personally through discipleship, prayer, devotions, and a school culture that honors the Presence of God.
We are committed to creating a safe and nurturing environment where children are encouraged, valued, and protected from intimidation and fear fostered in other educational institutions in Haiti. Through smaller class sizes and dedicated teachers, students receive a quality education designed to help them thrive. Beyond the classroom, we equip young people with discipleship, leadership skills, confidence, and practical business training to prepare them for real life in Haiti's market. Lespri is also a place of guidance and support, where students can find prayer, counseling, encouragement, and caring mentors during difficult seasons. Lespri is working to build a school culture rooted in love, respect, dignity, and the belief that every person, young or old, is deeply valuable to God.
"We're here to change a nation through raising leaders for it. Leaders who function with excellence, know business, carry God's heart, and love Jesus." -Elaine Rensink Founder & President of Lespri Ministries
